dear shola,
in 1994, the doctors found 2 benign uterine fibroid tumors both are very close to the top of my uterus. however, i did have them removed immediately like the doctor suggested because i was afraid to have surgery. now, 14 years later, one is the size of a basketball which makes me look like i am 8 or 9 months pregnant, and the other one underneath or beside it is the size of a grapefruit; it is tying to get larger but the largest one is in its way.
recently in 7/ 2008, through ultra sound the doctors have found a total of 7 of them including the two i just mentioned. the doctors said that two of the 7 of them are close to or may even be attached to the main artery of the uterus, and he may not be able to remove it because i might hemorage during surgery then against my wishes, he would have to perform a partial hysterectomy if he can not stop the bleeding.
i have told the doctors that even though i am forty-six years old, i do not want a partial hysterectomy. the doctor i am working with now, a senior staff physician, in the womens’ clinic, at harborview medical center located in seattle, washington, said that he can not remove all the tumors because the two maybe located close to the main artery of the uterus; however, he would remove the ones he could without giving me a partial hysterectomy.
my question is does it matter how long the uterine fibroids have been in the uterus for a successful myomectomy? i let the doctors know that ii do not want a partial hysterectomy and that i would like to keep all of my organs for a long as possible. i have 5 to 7 benign uterine fibroid tumors that are located in the uterine wall but close to the top of my uterus. they do not cause me any problems except for excess urination during my normal menstral cycle. i have edema so i retain excess water also.
thank you,
shirelle w. bishop

Shirelle,
I’m really sorry to learn about your situation, and I completely agree that the best course of action is to keep all of your organs.
As you say, they don’t cause you problems (okay, apart from looking pregnant and excess urination during menstruation), so why not try out some natural methods and see what happens?
I can’t advise on the myomectomy, as I’m not a medical doctor, but a large percentage of my clients have had procedures such as these, only to find the fibroids have grown back a few years later!
Keep us updated in what you decide to do.
Take care,
Shola

Please remember that Doctors push prescription drugs and surgery.
This is an alternative way to heal yourself of uterine Fibroids. Most Doctors probably don’t know anything about this. It is possible to heal yourself with diet (what you put in or don’t put in your body), exercise and supplements.
I almost had a complete hysterectomy about a year ago. My uterus was the size of a woman that was 24 weeks pregnant. I did a life style change. I know of 3 places that estrogen comes from: ovaries, body fat and food hormones that are found in a lot of the meat in USA. I started eating organic, hormone free, raw foods, and exercising.
I am only 5’7.5 inches tall. I went from a size 14 to a baggy size 10 and lost about 30 pounds. I still ate fast junk food every now and then (about 2x a month)
I had another ultra sound done and my uterus had shrunk to about 12 week. My periods are still kind of heavy and I want to completely get rid of the bulge in my belly. I believe that I agree with most of what I have read so far so I will be ordering the literature as well.

well im starting my detox tomorow and am really excited ……im just a little unsure about what i can eat apart from organic fresh fruit and veg and vegetarian proteins…..can i eat cous cous and or quinola?????
————
Those are both excellent choices. Organic, vegetarian proteins are great, and so are organic grains such as the ones you mentioned above.
You can’t go wrong with a sensible diet, as long as most of the food you eat every day is organic.
Take care,
Shola

Hi Shola:
Thank you so much for those available information. I have decided to change up my diet, not eating any chicken, or meat, and I don’t eat pork. I eat strictly fish, saltfish or vegeterian food, not leaving out my organic fruits and vegetables. I begun to feel great, I did a colon cleanse about two months ago, so now I’m getting ready to do another one. I went from a size 12 to a 10. I’m loving the result I am getting from my body.
Continue to keep me posted on any new information you may find.
Thanks again Shola, and continue to keep up the good work.

I am 38 and was diagnosed with uterine fibroids 2 years ago. At that time, my uterous was large enough to fit a six week old fetus. Now, it’s a size fit for a 12 week fetus. Two years ago, my doctor said wait-and-see. Today, they are telling me that I have too many that are too deep so the MR Ultrasound Guided ExAblation is not an option. The UFE may be an option but not a guarantee to shrink the fibroids. The best option, acccording to my doctor is major surgery (myomectomy or partial hysterectomy). I am very dissatified with my doctor’s opinion. Also, two years ago my doctor said I had one or two fibroids. Now, they say I have about 8 of them. They also said that the fact that they’ve grown significantly since 2 years ago could be a sign of pre-cancer. Lovely!
I have somewhat heavier periods these days but I’m not anemic. I do urinate more frequently. I am definitely overweight (5’6″ and 180 pounds). I try to eat right but I know I do not excercise enough. Could weight loss also help me “lose weight” in my uterus? I’m just not sure if my weight and my growing fibroids are related.

Dear Shola,
I have been following a good diet – organic where possible, no chemical household cleaners or cosmetics, very light on dairy and wheat and taking chlorella and spirulina as well as a breakfast with linseed, porridge and depending on the day goji berries, maca, black sesame seeds – you name it I have tried them all.
I have also been doing yoga, moderate exercise regularly and don’t overindulge in caffeine or alcohol.
4 years ago I had a myomectomy, I now have 2 fibroids sticking into my bladder and I will have to undergo surgery because of the recurrent UTAs – as a result of my bladder being unable to empty fully.
I started taking the fibroid clear in November, and took it for 2 months but discontinued because my stomach was getting larger and more bloated, my periods were extremely painful. When I stopped taking the herbs the bloating subsided, I started again and same issue. I have now discontinued them completely. My last period was not as bad as the previous. Can you shed any light on this? Is there any way these herbs could have stimulated fibroid growth rather then reversing it? I know that different women have different hormonal imbalances and that some of the herbs are estrogenic, have you heard of any other women who have had similar problems taking the herbs?
Thank you,
Regards,
Elizabeth
